Synchronised skater Molly Bown has recently returned from Belgium where she and her team mates in the Rocking Robins competed in the International Winter Cup.
Molly has already achieved considerable success with the Rocking Robins clinching the British Champion title at the British Synchronised Skating Championships in Nottingham last year.
But this year, the 15-year-old was competing on a global scale – with her team securing third place in the two-day competition.
Molly explained that this is not the first time she has competed abroad: “I’ve been to a few before. It wasn’t that far away this time, as I’ve been to France before.
And she has more competitions ahead of her: “In January we have the British competition, then afterwards we have Dumfries, but we may also be going to Budapest.”
The Year 10 student has been skating since the age of six, having started locally at the National Ice Centre. It was at the age of eight she finally began competing within the mixed age category team the Rocking Robins.
Molly says she loves competing with the ‘Robins’. She said: “Because we are a team, we are all so close and we get along. It makes the experience loads better to be with your friends."
