International Schools
Carlton le Willows works in collaboration with international partner schools to ensure Academy students understand their place in the world as a global citizen.
In recognition of our best practice adding an international dimension to the school curriculum, the Academy continues to be accredited with the British Council's International School Award.
Yinzhou High School, Ningbo
Yinzhou High School, provides education from a junior-high to senior-high level in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, China. It is a government-run boarding high school and is one of 100 provincial schools specialising in science and research.
Our partnership with Ningbo Yinzhou High School began when we took a delegation of 20 students and four staff to China. This visit was our second to China organised in league with the Nottingham Confucius Institute (NCI).
During this introductory visit to the school we were hosted by the Headteacher and his staff and participated in cultural activities taught by Chinese teachers. We have since visited the school again as part of a Principal delegation organised by Access China working with NCI.
We continue to take students to Ningbo as part of a sporting/cultural exchange supported by Nottingham Confucius Institute.
Yinzhou Lanqing School, Ningbo

We have visited Ningbo Yinzhou Middle School on several occasions as part of our itinerary on trips to the region. Academy students and staff are always warmly welcomed with the focus of visits predominantly being to play table tennis.
Carlton le Willows Academy has also played host to a group of staff and students from Lanqing as part of our continued links with the school.
Pascal Gymnasium, Münster
Pascal Gymnasium is a co-educational grammar school offering German-French bi-lingual education for students aged from 11-18 years old.
Our partnership with Pascal Gymnasium initially started through a connection with our Head of MFL with the intent to organise student exchange trips. With support from the organisation UK-German Connection we introduced a German exchange for Year 9 students studying GCSE languages in 2017.
Through the links we have developed in Münster, two of our Year 12 language students have had the opportunity to take part in a European work experience summer exchange staying with local families and working in the local primary school.
