Going Global winners

Language students at Carlton le Willows Academy took first prize in a business challenge organised as part of a Going Global event at the University of Nottingham.
The Year 8 French students impressed organisers with their business challenge - which saw them design a product for an overseas market, tweet it and then pitch their idea to real business people in French.
As winners, they beat off competition from Repton School as well as top set students in older year groups from other county schools.
Head of Modern Foreigh Languages at Carlton le Willows Dr Wiesemes said: "I was delighted with the result and with all the students, who got really enthused about the use of MFL in a more real context."
Organised by Business Language Champions, in partnership with the University of Nottingham, the event also gave students chance to try taster lessons in Portuguese, Russian or Chinese, language workshops in their target language (French or German) and take part in a debate about the importance of various languages.
