A Level results 2020
Carlton le Willows Academy has seen 27% of A*/A grades in A Level results released today.
In total 51% of grades recorded were A*-B, with particularly strong performances in both English and Maths. In English literature 50% of students received A*/A – well above the national average - with 41% getting A*/A grades in Maths.
Among the results there were some notable individual successes with 12 students getting an average grade of A or above in all their subjects.
One of the Academy’s top performing students was Scarlett Ryan (18), who secured a place to study English literature at Cambridge University with three A* grades in English, History and Maths.
Head of Sixth Form Mrs Emsley said: “Our Year 13 Class of 2020 have really made us proud. There can be no doubt that they have lived through unprecedented times but they have dealt with the cancellation of A Levels with the utmost professionalism and dignity.
“Today we are celebrating the achievements of all our students while also focusing on providing support to anyone who needs our help and advice. The main aim at Carlton le Willows this year, as in every year, is to ensure that all our young people are able to progress to the next stage of their life journey.”
