GCSE Results 2020
YEAR 11 students at Carlton le Willows Academy have been celebrating receiving their GCSE results after months of uncertainty.
Class of 2020 received their grades today (20th August) after the Government announced GCSE students would get their Centre Assessed Grades (CAGs) based on teacher assessment, or the calculated grade from the exam board, whichever was higher.
BTEC students are still to receive their grades, which have been delayed while the examining body re-visit and potentially re-grade results for L1 and L2 courses, in a bid to ensure BTEC students are not disadvantaged.
Academy results show 28% of students achieved Grade 7 or above in all subjects, with 75% recording a Grade 5 in English and maths and 86% securing five or more GCSEs at grade 4 or above.
Many students will now go on to study A Levels in the Academy Sixth Form, with others have secured places at college or apprenticeships.
