Carlton le Willows Academy

Nothing but the best

Expansion work begins

Work has begun on the first phase of an £11million expansion project at Carlton le Willows Academy.

Clegg Construction will be building and fully fitting out a new two-storey building – South block – which will serve to unite the current split site and provide a state-of-the-art performance space, dining hall and new classrooms.

Initial work will focus on creating a new entrance on Burton Road, through which all construction traffic will pass and then work will begin preparing the ground. This may take up to four weeks, with foundations to be laid after Easter.

Once completed, this will pave the way for phase two of the project - an extensive internal refurbishment of some of the school's existing facilities.

This will create capacity for a further 400 extra students at Carlton le Willows, in order to meet increasing local need for school places and provide a high quality learning environment for the benefit of students now and in the future.
