Carlton le Willows Academy

Nothing but the best

A Level success

YEAR 13 students at Carlton le Willows Academy – the first cohort to sit full exams since the pandemic - are celebrating getting their results – and securing places at top universities across the country.

This year has seen a 100% pass rate at A level, with 89% of students recording A*-C across all subjects. Of these 41% recorded A*/A grades, with 18 students getting a clean sweep of A star/A grades .

As ever, we have had many individual success stories, including Molly-May Shepherd who has secured a place to study English at Cambridge University after securing two A*s and an A; Emma Proudlove who secured three A*s and will now go to study law at Bristol University and Alexis Lewis who also got 3 A*s and is studying Dentistry at Kings College, London. Amber Pheasant and Nancy Robinson also recorded a clean sweep of A* results, with Amber set to study for an Arts Foundation course in Nottingham and Nancy securing a place to study Musical Theatre Performance at the University of East London.

Head of Sixth Form Abbie Emsley said: "We are delighted for our Year 13 - the first cohort to sit full exams since the pandemic. They have risen to the challenge and recorded strong results. We couldn't be more proud of them.

"Most importantly of course, it means that so many of them can now look forward to studying at their first choice university or following their chosen career path. Well done to them all!”
