Head of Careers and Employability, Dr Farheen Khan works closely with the school management team to ensure that Carlton le Willows Academy has a coherent and cohesive program of careers education and support for our students. She has been shortlisted for the CDI Careers Leader of the Year Award 2019.
Carlton le Willows Academy works in partnership with CareersInc to ensure that careers advice and guidance is impartial. Careers Inc is a Matrix accredited provider, and all their careers advisors have Level 6 qualifications in careers advice and guidance.

Impact of Careers Programme
We measure and assess the impact of the careers programme at Carlton le Willows to ensure it meets the needs of our students.
This is done in a variety of ways including Student Voice surveys, one to one interviews and also by monitoring school leaver destination data.

Find out what qualifications/experience you need to enter that career
Learn about how to get the skills/experience you need
Learn how to write a letter, put together a CV and fill in a job application
Learn how to present yourself in writing and at an interview
The school promotes extra-curricular programmes that will enable students to demonstrate their employability skills and prepare them for the world of work.
- National Citizen Service – A four-week programme over the summer holidays, Students are challenged, have the opportunity to lead a project and become entrepreneurial, all while helping their local community
Students can speak to Rachel Reynolds, a careers adviser who works for Careers Inc
Rachel is available every Tuesday break time in the Careers Room opposite East Hall. She is also available at Parents’ Evenings. Simple queries can be emailed to her at email@example.com
Year 11 students can also ask for a careers counseling session with Rachel. Email Head of Careers Dr Khan firstname.lastname@example.org to book an appointment.
