Arrive at school by 8.25am to start school by 8.30am. Members of staff will be at the Wood Lane and Burton Road gates (the pedestrian gate near the white bungalow and the gate opposite Stoke Lane) to meet you and direct you to the main reception at West where you will be met by your form tutor.

A letter sent at the start of the summer holidays will tell you who your form tutor will be. 

Year 7 will be the only students in school on the first day of the Autumn term. This is so staff can be solely focused on ensuring your first day at the Academy runs smoothly.

You will meet your form tutor face to face and meet members of our senior leadership team.

There will be an orienteering session to help you find your way around school and some team building so you can get to know your new classmates.

The school day will finish at 3pm.

As well as wearing full school uniform – more details here – you should bring your school bag containing basic equipment which is compulsory for all students: a pen (black ink), pencil, pencil eraser and ruler.

You will be given a school planner which you need to bring with you every day.

If you bring a mobile phone it must be switched off and out of sight while you are on school grounds. Read our full mobile phone policy.

There will be plenty of our people on hand to help you and there are maps posted all around school.

We have an orienteering exercise to help new Year 7s familiarise themselves with the buildings.

School finishes at 3pm. Have a look at the breakdown of the school day.

There is no access for parents on to school site in the morning and at 3pm. This is for the safety of all our students.

Parents wishing to collect their children from school are asked not to drive and park on Wood Lane. For everyone’s safety parents should collect from the bus bay facility on Burton Road.
