Quality Standards
We currently hold the following quality standards which are regularly reviewed.
Career Mark
Carlton le Willows was the first school in Gedling to achieve this standard. It measures the quality of information, advice and guidance that we provide for our students in preparing them for the world of work and making decisions about further study, academic or vocational.
Investors in People
The Academy has held this award for many years. It encourages schools to have a clear business strategy for staff training and development so that individuals know how to do their jobs well and effectively.
Healthy Minds Kitemark
The Healthy Minds Kitemark has only been awarded to schools who successfully implement and maintain good quality teaching and learning to help develop healthy minds. This is a unique achievement that recognises an outstanding effort and commitment to developing the wellbeing of our students.
ICT Register
Schools on the ICT Register promote innovative practice about all aspects of learning with technology and provide advice and support to others.
Healthy Schools
Schools have an important part to play in supporting the health and well being of children and young people. The Healthy Schools Award focuses on our delivery of PHSE education, healthy eating, physical exercise and policies and priorities relating to sex and relationships, anti-bullying and drugs. It also assesses student voice and representation.
International Schools Award
In recognition of the collaborative work with our international partner schools, Carlton le Willows Academy has been accredited with the International Schools Award (ISA) by the British Council. The ISA is an accreditation scheme which recognises good practice in schools that successfully add an international dimension to their school curriculum.
Music Mark
Membership of Music Mark is awarded in recognition of the Academy’s commitment to music and the value that Carlton le Willows places on music education as part of a broad and balanced curriculum and the opportunities offered to students.
